Project Team and User Education for Animal FacilitiesSteps to take in the planning phase. Published November 2006
How you organize and educate your project team and building users can have a vital role in the success of your facility.
In putting together your animal or research facility project team, it is not enough to select the team – also create a formal team organization chart naming names and relationships. For your contractor workers and tradespeople, you will get better animal facility project outcomes if you give them a project, science, and mission lecture to get understanding and buy-in on why quality matters. And, early on, inform your building users about two important building facts they are they are probably ignorant of: 1) Only 50-75% of funds for are for actual construction, and 2) The net square feet is only 50-60% of the total shell. - From Tradeline’s Animal Research Facilities 2006 Conference |
