A Working Definition.

Published May 2006 The term "open lab" is widely used in facilities planning - but what does it really mean?

There is still lack of precision in the general use of the term “open labs.” One working definition is that an open lab is one where what goes on at the ceiling level is separated (disconnected) from what goes on at the floor level.
