There are eight NCI-funded Centers of Excellence for the application of nanotechnology to the detection and treatment of cancer called CCNEs (Centers of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence).

3. Emory University-Georgia Tech
4. MIT-Harvard
5. Northwestern University
6. Cal Tech
7. Washington University
8. Stanford University (in collaboration with academic and industry partners)
