In seeming contradiction to the idea of extreme lab flexibility being achieved with overhead services and no floor penetrations, the idea of floor-mounted bollards as being an extreme flexibility feature has emerged in some very noteworthy projects. This is a big issue worthy of some serious debate and understanding before you next build. And by making a long-term flexibility investment in over-sized duct work, you also get near-term energy savings by virtue of lower velocity air circulation.
