Biocontainment Commissioning

Tips for success.

Published April 2008

For biocontainment commissioning, simulate your biggest potential spill or release event to make sure your biggest incident won’t be a disaster. For BSL2 and above, it is recommended that facilities be re-commissioned every year. If you have factory testing done for such things as variable frequency drives, sealants, and HEPA filters before those items arrive at your facility, you may actually save project dollars that might have been eaten up in extra commissioning work, delays, or rework.
