Condition-Based Maintenance for Biocontainment Facilities

A strategy for budget management.

Published April 2008

Condition-based maintenance (CBM) methods and technology can greatly reduce maintenance budgets for biocontainment facilities, animal facilities, and other high-tech spaces. Properly run CBM programs may also obviate the need for costly shutdowns, testing, and re-balancing associated with annual re-commissioning because CBM does real-time, continual performance monitoring and maintenance for all critical systems.
