Labor Issues in Animal FacilitiesRecruitment, training, and security. Published November 2007
Planning for the labor needs of your animal operation.
One of the big impacts of growing your biocontainment programs where animals are involved is the labor impact which involves recruitment of biosafety personnel, training of staff on biosafety, more administrative infrastructure, and (where Select Agents are involved) getting workers security checked. In planning for gowning areas for vivarium workers, plan on as many as three times as many female workers as male workers. - From Tradeline’s Animal Research Facilities 2007 Conference |
