Air Loss in Animal Facilities

Well-sealed conduits prevent air loss.

Published November 2007

You can experience from one to two percent air loss from an animal facility if conduits are poorly sealed. Seal conduits with Permagum and not silicon, because Permagum can be more easily removed if a renovation is required. Also, use solid electrical boxes (no penetrations) for all junction boxes (an air loss thing).
