Sustainability is no longer an option. To some degree or another it is a planning issue for all science building projects. If you are thinking about a “green” roof, get your safety and maintenance people on board with what kind of green roof to pursue. Green roof plans have been killed in several projects by legitimate concerns about the safety maintenance people who have to do regular maintenance to such rooftop space.
