Forum Session: The Digital Clinical Systems impact on data center plans and management

Re-do your long-term data center operation and facility plan for the looming IT growth "tsunami" of Digital Clinical Systems to avoid: "Not big enough. Not in the right location. Under-powered. Under-cooled. Inadequate reliability. Poor maintenance access. Under (or over) staffed." Robert Romero and Stephen Spenazzola illustrate Johns Hopkins' long range planning initiative for explosive growth in the deployment of digital clinical systems and that institution's related planning for data center operations and expansion. They set out formulas for calculating and selling to senior management optimum solutions for hardware, software, space, power, cooling, maintenance, and money.

This session is approved for AIA Continuing Education credit.

Session Leaders:
  • R. Stephen Spinazzola, PE , Vice President - RTKL Associates, Inc.
