Simulation centers provide the facilities necessary for health professionals to learn, practice, and demonstrate competence in patient care skills before performing them on real patients. These same centers enable health care providers from multiple disciplines to train together so that patients get the care they need with maximum efficiency and safety. Michael Lauber and Dianne Wagner examine the critical facility and curriculum details associated with successful simulation-based learning, referring to four current simulation center projects.
