General Session: Scripps Research Institute Florida -- research facility infrastructure for 2015

One of the nation’s newest, high-profile research facility initiatives to be completed this year will be the new 350,000-sf Scripps Research Institute campus for biomedical science, drug discovery, and technology development in Jupiter, Florida. Here, Ben Morris details three significant elements of this new Research-2015 infrastructure initiative: 1) efficient lab space and utility infrastructure for science and instrumentation futures, research program diversity, and team research, 2) solutions to the problem of getting qualified contractors to deliver construction excellence for research facilities, and 3) facilities management strategies and operating costs for new, advanced science facilities.
