The Karp Family Research Laboratories uses a modular design to accommodate evolving research activity and to foster interaction among scientists. After four years of occupancy, Sam Lux details how the cross-corridor design between labs and offices encourages collaboration and inter-mingles research groups. He profiles the adjacencies, working relationships, and the specialized facility features that have proven key to effective collaboration, and building features that did not work as expected. He also highlights best practices for developing facilities solutions with scientists, architects, and engineers.
