The new, new thing in the state-of-the-art research facility plans now coming off the drawing boards (new construction and renovations) is that they zero in on research processes, time-efficiency for research staff, and cost-effective sustainability. Here session leaders illustrate how these new performance criteria are shaping capital project decisions for buildings at Johnson & Johnson, the US Army, and Stony Brook University. They examine details of new building layouts and productivity features that are based on team research models and overall research missions as well as the sustainability solutions being implemented for long-term operational efficiency.
This session is approved by the AIA for continuing education credit. This session also qualifies for HSW credit. Session Leaders:- Rachel Nelan, AIA, LEED AP , Architect/Senior Associate - Flad Architects
- Joseph Ostafi, AIA, LEED AP , Architect - Flad Architects
- Jerald D. Polly, PE , Principal - Flad Architects
