The thesis of this session is that you should be putting more money into research and less into bricks and mortar, and that the leasing of research space has now become a well developed business model. Here session leaders set out the 10 key rules for successful research facility leasing initiatives, including details on contract terms, negotiating strategies, costs, and facility features. They examine leasing details on research facilities at Children's Hospital Boston and Partners Healthcare (Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital) to reveal research program implications, research grant financial reimbursement characteristics, and lessons learned for leasing solutions.
This session is approved by the AIA for continuing education credit. This session also qualifies for HSW credit. Session Leaders:- Richard L. Kobus, AIA, FACHA , Senior Principal - Tsoi/Kobus & Associates, Inc.
- Charles Weinstein, Esq. , Vice President for Real Estate, Planning & Development - Children's Hospital Boston
- Mary L. Lentz , Executive Vice President - McCall & Almy, Inc.
