Forum Session: Renovating old research buildings to perform like new ones

Why tear down an old classic science building or convert it to office use when you can make it work like (or maybe even better than) a new research building? Here, you'll see what is possible in converting old research buildings into new research buildings. James Collins takes on the challenge of addressing all the features of the new research environments in the shell of an old research building frame. Those features are: open labs, daylight, lab equipment, interaction space, circulation, mechanical infrastructure, flexibility, space additions, and sustainability, plus costs and occupant satisfaction.

This session is approved by the AIA for continuing education credit.
This session also qualifies for HSW credit.
