Forum I: Using the "core-competency strategy" for a lean, efficient, management operating model

Achieve big bottom-line financial payoffs by eliminating systematic, repeated waste in doing large numbers of small and medium-sized capital improvement projects. Randy Bender and Brad Spackman illustrate the combined use of Lean principles, Six-Sigma performance metrics, and Integrated Project Management (IPM) principles to eliminate large-scale inefficiencies in the execution of an annual portfolio of operation-driven small and medium-sized capital projects. Specifically, they detail the management processes and systems for doing Lean-based capital upgrade projects for multiple facilities at a major Fortune 25 client and how that organization has developed a "think Lean" mindset to govern all small and mid-sized capital projects.

This session has been approved for AIA/CES units.
