International biosafety regulations, requirements, and guidelines simply weren't in-sync--until now. In this session, Stefan Wagener profiles the new standard on biorisk management recently adopted by the international biosafety and biosecurity community. He illustrates how the performance-based, voluntary standard provides a systematic process for applying management systems and performance criteria for improved biosafety and biosecurity, and spells out its impact on the industry. He demonstrates implementation strategies, describes the guidelines for accreditation and certification of laboratories, and lays out how it will impact design, construction, and operations.
Session Leader:- Stefan Wagener, PhD, CBSP, Scientific Director, Biorisk Management - Canadian Sci Centre for Human and Animal Health
