The new philosophy of biomedical research is to develop pipelines of research results that get quickly translated to next stages in “relay race” style. Turning this philosophy into reality is serious business – business that McGill’s new $53 million Life Science Complex construction initiative is designed to accomplish. Here, Michel Tremblay makes the connection between the vision of health science futures, new research realties, and facility infrastructure. He examines funding issues, what it takes to create a critical mass for change, and requirements for robust core facilities in the creation of scientific, clinical, and commercial value.
Session Leader:- Michel L. Tremblay, PhD FRSC, Director - McGill University Cancer Centre
