Science teaching and interdisciplinary medicine. Health Sciences Education Research is rapidly evolving to adapt to new interdisciplinary patient care trends. New business, facility, and teaching models for interdisciplinary medicine are taking shape for Canadian and U.S. medical centers. Here session leaders examine the implications of this model in the context of new trends in education, clinical practice, and medical research. They use current case studies and a strategic decision-making tool to illustrate new cost-effective solutions, metrics, space standards, and design concepts for situated learning, problem-based curriculum, interdisciplinary simulation, medical research, and patient-centered care.

This session is approved by the AIA for continuing education credit.
