Emerging sciences, new project development and management models. Emerging fields of science such as nano scale research, the convergence of disciplines, recruitment competition, and the revolution of collaborative research have made the old lab planning standards, project development processes, delivery methods, and building operation models obsolete. Here, Ahmad Soueid and Clare Swanson profile the new project development and management models based on an analysis of current and recent advanced science facilities at the University of Waterloo, Purdue University, and US DOE facilities at Brookhaven, Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories.
This session is approved by the AIA for continuing education credit.
