Forum G: Automated cage processing innovations offer big savings for smaller applications

If you think cage processing automation systems are only for large-scale vivarium operations, think again. Chris Cosgrove examines recent innovations that are making cage-processing automation financially attractive for smaller-scale applications -- solutions that work with existing equipment, take up less space, and can target just the soiled side of cage wash operations. He examines a variety of small-scale solutions being offered by various manufacturers and examines cost/benefit propositions including capabilities for handling multiple cage types from different manufacturers for multiple species and the impact that has on work flow processes, personnel, and efficiency.

This session is approved for AIA continuing education credit and qualifies for HSW units.
