UCSF's high-tech solution for next-generation translational cardiovascular research

Here you’ll see what represents “leading edge” in multidisciplinary translational research facilities. UCSF’s new $254 million Cardiovascular Research Building will house researchers, clinicians, and physicians, and will feature the latest in technology and space fit-ups for telemedicine, robotic surgery, specialized training, changing research programs, vivarium operations, and outpatient care. Sandra Beck links the Cardiovascular Research Institute’s mission drivers to specific building features and illustrates strategic decisions on adjacencies, global network connectivity, and data handling capacity. She also profiles the special project delivery methods being used to deliver this technically complex facility on time and under budget.
