Forum P: Stanford School of Medicine sets new standards for integrated medical education

Stanford School of Medicine integrates medical education and research with clinical environments and serves as a model institution to benchmark against. Here, session leaders use two recent campus projects to examine key program and facilities components that model next generation teaching and research environments, team-based learning and research mechanisms, cross-disciplinary teaching and research modalities, breakthrough technologies, and curriculum that advances training in clinical skills and scientific investigation. They also demonstrate integration features for technology enhanced teaching and state-of-the-art simulation environments, including operating rooms, ICUs, and ERs, plus strategies for creating a seamless learning paradigm.

This session is approved for AIA/CES and HSW credit.
