There are many new and powerful energy tools and technologies that offer very high return-on-investment financial results. The management challenge is to get them implemented. Larry Wash examines and profiles high-yield energy saving tools and technologies that should be priority issues on institution planning agendas. These include: photovoltaics, geothermal, geo-exchange, thermal storage, co-generation, infrared thermography, ultrasonic analyses, vibration transducers, building re-commissioning practices, and investments in environmental controls. He chronicles the results of specific applications, and he sets out principles and lessons learned for mounting and executing successful implementation initiatives.
