AAALAC International (the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International) is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. More than 670 institutions around the world have earned AAALAC International accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to responsible animal care and use. They include universities, hospitals, government agencies, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and other types of research organizations.
