Local Containment Ventilation

Published July 2003

An exhaust system in laboratories where the exhaust ducts at the ceiling are located every few feet. Small, portable hoods or exhausted workstations can then be hooked up wherever they are located within the lab. Unused exhausts are capped off. Care must be taken to not connect more equipment to the exhaust than the HVAC system can handle. Similar to ventilated animal racks in lab animal rooms.
