e-Business
Published February 2004
"e-Business" is a communication process that makes use of Internet technologies to execute business transactions between many users. Applied to the arena of facilities management, emerging e-business models focus on providing users with self-help tools that increase the speed of business processes, improve worker productivity, and raise the level of worker satisfaction. There are three different groups of users who make use of these tools: 1) workers in the workplace who are the beneficiaries of facilities and infrastructure support services, 2) workers who are the providers of services, and 3) vendor organizations and their employees who are a part of the service model. Many Web-based service models are built around three different portals, one for each group of users. |
