Soft Foot

Published January 1995

A condition that exists when the bottom of all of the feet of the machinery components are not on the same plane (can be compared to a chair with one short leg). Soft foot is present if the machine frame distorts when a foot bolt is loosened or tightened.  It must be corrected before the machine is actually aligned.
