Aggregate

In its plainest sense, an aggregate is the sum or total of a group of numbers. In insurance, aggregate limit, the total amount payable under an insurance policy regardless of the number of claims. Also refers to crushed stone, crushed slag, or water-worn gravel used for surfacing a built-up roof. Can also refer to any granular mineral material such as that added to flooring materials for traction.
