A lease transaction that is
financially reported by the lessee in the same manner as if the asset
acquisition had been purchased and paid for with borrowed funds. In a
capital lease the liability and the asset are both recognized on the
lessee's balance sheet and reported expenses consist of interest and
depreciation.
