Fit-Up

Commonly used to refer to all building construction and improvements other than the basic shell components of the building, consisting of foundation, structure, external walls and roof. There are basically two classes of fit-up work. Building fit-up includes air conditioning, lighting, mechanical and all interior construction (wall, wall coverings, carpeting) pertaining to the function of the space (offices, production, research). User-group fit-up includes furniture, fixtures and all moveable improvements. See also FF&E
