Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC)
Published February 2000
Concrete-based structural materials used in applications such as curtain walls that are manufactured in a modeling process where fiberglass is blown in as the concrete is poured. A labor-intensive process, the material is considerably more expensive than conventional concrete panels, but lighter in weight. Using GFRC reduces the overall weight of the structure and facilitates materials handling during construction.
