Harvesting

In animal research facilities, the collecting of animal organs, ova, or embryos for use in research. In biotechnology facilities, harvesting refers to the processing of product. After the product is produced by microorganisms in a bioreactor, it is transferred to a harvest room for purification ("harvesting").
