An alternative approach to
providing the advantages of interstitial space for mechanical systems
without committing one separate service floor to each program floor.
This is achieved by creating an interstitial service floor above and
below each pair of dedicated program floors. This idea is helpful in
renovation projects where the distribution of services is critical but
where giving up 50 percent of the floors to mechanical is not practical
or economical.
