A biological piping system for collecting
and decontaminating infectious and hazardous organisms from laboratory
effluent. The tank is connected to a contained drain system. The
operational objective of a kill tank is to either achieve a logarithmic
reduction of the producing organism, such as can be achieved by
pasteurization, or to sterilize the entire contents of the vessel.
