Light Loss Factor

A multiplier which is applied to account for the conditions which reduce light output over time. These include temperature and voltage variations, lamp aging and dirt build-up on lamp, luminary and room surfaces. In common practice, light loss factors are applied to initial foot candles to determine the light level that will be maintained in a given area.
