Oxbridge Room

Published February 2000

A type of interaction area featuring tables, writing surfaces, free coffee, periodicals, and comfortable chairs. The idea is that researchers who come to the room for coffee or use scientific journals will stay to interact with their colleagues. The term "oxbridge" comes from tea rooms at Oxford and Cambridge where research fellows meet to talk.
