A term from the 1980 Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) that describes the implementation of the remedial design at the hazardous waste site. Remedial actions include encapsulation, incineration, neutralization and collection and removal of hazardous wastes as well as non-engineering solutions such as institutional controls and relocation.
