Sometimes referred to as low-bay process areas. Areas in research facilities that have all of the lab services provided but lack research benches or hoods. This type of space is useful for trial manufacturing operations, special projects, or prototype jobs because required machinery can be easily moved into the area without the restriction of fixed walls or benches. Floor-to-ceiling heights for this type of space vary from 14 to 18 feet. Can also be used as space for future lab expansion.
