Ammonia

Ammonia is a chemcial compound that is formed by the breakdown of amino acids. Urea, which is excreted in urine, is broken down into ammonia and carbon dioxide. Vivarium ventilation must remove high levels of accumulated ammonia and carbon dioxide from the animals environment.
