Science/Research Facilities Planning and Design Multiple Employers Description:
There are a number of consulting firms across the US that are in short supply staff in their leadership ranks. These leaders are typically working with clients creating Science and Research spaces and buildings for Universities, Private and Government clientele. The biggest need is for professionals who understand those environments, their processes, pace and politics, and can combine the savvy of knowing how to navigate those issues with the experience of having created through planning or design facilities that support world class learning and research.
The people we're looking for have a passion for problem solving and are comfortable reaching into a toolbox that includes a firms resources, client staff, vendors and staff in addition to their own skills honed over years of being a part of the solution for client growth and expansion needs. Generally (but not always) the people that fit these roles come from a background in Architecture, Engineering or Construction. They've worked for at least some time in a consulting environment, so they understand the pace and where they fit on the supply chain, and what that means in terms of client expectations. They've been a part of several large building programs so that they have an appreciation for the processes and what it takes to start and finish such an endeavor.
Most of all, these roles require a passion for creating or being a part of the creation of spaces that house some of the most advanced research and teaching in the world. Knowing that you're impacting the health and welfare of the human race now and for the next 40 years should get your blood pumping and keep you engaged and learning. If, substantially, you fit this profile, I'm interested in spending some time with you. It's not a matter of whether there's a fit for you out there. It's a matter of where and/or when.
