Facilities Manager - biomedical company Beckman Coulter, Inc. Location: Webster, TX Description:
Manages one or more facilities services groups, overseeing the design, planning, construction, maintenance and operation of company-owned and leased properties as well as related equipment and systems which may include industry specific processes such as high purity water systems. The incumbent manages real estate activities; schedules and manages facilities modifications; coordinates the implementation of changes to building space, communication services and/or facilities expansion.May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards and oversee security systems for business facilities. The person will also have the responsibility for overall facilities cleanliness, maintenance and hygiene.Management and coordination of the facility business resumption plan with other functions to prepare for potential events and enact disaster recovery efforts.
Job Description:
·Establishes goals to meet objectives
·Establishes Facilities plans, standards, procedures, performance levels and documentation requirements
·Provides direction, guidance and coordination to staff to achieve goals in accordance with established policies and business needs.
·Review and measure based on meeting objectives and schedules
·Establishes and recommends changes to procedures and methods that may affect Facilities operations and staff
·Responsible for hiring/firing/disciplinary decisions affecting employees
·Recommends, hires, manages and terminates external resources (contractors)
·Ensures that staff skills are maintained on a continual basis to ensure cost/effective operations
·Manages overall facility preventive maintenance program for equipment and physical plant
·Monitors facilities cleanliness by directing the janitorial services in consultation with other functions
·Monitors operating budget
·Manages relationships with vendors, consultants, contractors, and professional associations to keep informed with existing and evolving industry standards and technologies
·Develops Facilities tactical planning process and monitors through measurement
·Coordinate and manage the business resumption plan for business continuation management and disaster recovery.
·Communicates Facilities status, issues to high level management, users and staff
·Adheres to policies and procedures
Required Experience/Skills:
·Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with 7 years of experience in facility operations.At least 3 years with management and supervision of direct reports.
·Experience with regulated industries such as diagnostic, medical device, pharmaceutical or food production.
·Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, landlords and state / county / city officials.
·Knowledge of production equipment, controlled environments and critical systems such as deionized water systems.
·Knowledge of facilities operations, physical plant, safety and security, and fire protection systems.
·Proven ability to lead employees, work with cross-functional departments and coordinate facility operations and department needs within the work schedule.
