One of the largest North American retailers is seeking a Program Director to develop, organize, and lead programs of long-term strategic impact and focus on the realization of initiatives for automating distribution center material handling.
Specific responsibilities include:
·Plan, organize and lead an initiative’s overall project budget, scope of work, and schedule.
·Organize and manage a diverse team of subject matter experts for construction, systemic process development and change management.
·Financial and budget management, as well as analyzing financial impact of initiative decisions.
·Maintain a high level of customer service to both company and public customers.
·Continuous interaction with divisional leadership with focus on distribution center management as well as retail store leadership with developmental improvements.
·Ensure timely completion of goals/action plans, both short and long term.
The ideal candidate for the Program Director will possess:
·Eight years of progressively challenging project management experience.
·Ten years in a leadership role of managing professionals in a production or warehouse environment.
·Strong experience in architectural and engineering construction.
·Experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering is highly preferred.
·Ability to think strategically, formulating action plans and seeing them through.
·Ability to work with and communicate to VP levels.
·Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects, while being flexible and responsive to changing priorities.
·Excellent project leadership skills. Ability to develop hypotheses, structure a work plan, assign tasks, monitor progress and lead project teams to develop fact based conclusions, recommendations and action plans.
·Ability to empower the workforce and build strong teams.
·Strong communication skills, particularly in public speaking and writing.
·Strong interpersonal skills for relationship building and collaborative/committee work.
·Must be able to address large-scale problems in conceptual and practical ways.
·Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse workforce strong preferred.
·Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
·Experience in holding employees accountable for working safely, and providing a safe work environment.
·Excellent customer service focus, results oriented.
·Computer skills, including Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
Four-year college degree in Engineering required. MBA or similar graduate degree preferred.
