Our client, the St. Boniface General Hospital (SBGH), is one of Manitoba's largest healthcare facilities. SBGH maintains a campus comprised of more than 180 departments and services, located in seven separate buildings and situated on 20 acres of land. They also operate several satellite facilities located off campus, and maintain close relationships with other agencies.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Support Services, the Director, Facility Support will serve as a member of the senior management team.This individual will direct and lead the functional areas of property management (energy centre, maintenance, protection services, and technical services), housekeeping, laundry, central processing department, supply chain and food services.The Director is responsible for developing business strategies consistent within the values, philosophy and strategic plan of the hospital and establishing measurable performance objectives in the functional areas.Using a client-centered approach to service delivery, the Director promotes the integration and coordination of support services provided to patient care activities.The director will further develop the positive team environment, build strong effective relationships and communication channels, and provide mentoring to the staff.
The Director serves on appropriate hospital-wide committees to promote the horizontal integration of strategic and operational initiatives and liaise with external stakeholders to support the achievement of regional and facility objectives.The Director will pursue professional and personal development through relevant participation of professional committees, conferences and training opportunities.Additionally, the Director will develop working relationships with hospital personnel and management as well as with external partners.
Key Responsibilities include:
·Preparing operational plans and budgets.
·Monitoring monthly financial statements and analyzing trends and variances.
·Conducting operational reviews and providing recommendations.
·Developing, communicating, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to comply with professional standards, relevant legislation and the strategic goals.
·Developing and implementing continuous improvement and quality assurance programs, ultimately providing cost reductions throughout the department.
·Communicating known work hazards, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and regulations and promoting a positive, safe and healthy work environment.
As the ideal candidate, you possess post-secondary education in management or appropriate discipline (health, public or business administration, engineering or hospitality).You have a minimum of five years proven success in a senior management role, preferably in health or hospitality facility management.As a strong leader with a commitment to continuous improvement, you have excellent facilitation and problem-solving skills.With outstanding interpersonal skills, you have the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Acting as a mentor, you lead by example and set high standards for those around you.
