Manager, Engineering Argonne National Laboratory Location: Argonne, IL Description:
The Facilities Management and Services Division of Argonne National Laboratory, one of America’s premier science/technology R&D centers located 25 miles southwest of Chicago, is seeking candidates for a position of Manager of Engineering
This position manages a multi-disciplinary (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, architectural) department that provides the engineering required for: development and implementation of the construction and rehabilitation program for Argonne facilities; technical support of scientific programs, technical support of physical plant operation, and design authority for all site facilities.The position is responsible for management of the Office of Configuration Management (OCM); ensures consistency among system requirements and performance criteria, system documentation, and physical configuration of all safety bases structures, systems and components (SDBSSCs) across the Argonne site.
Requirements include: considerable knowledge of engineering principles, practices, codes and standards as applied to design and construction of research facilities and related utilities; personnel and project management principles; line management experience in Engineering organizations; configuration management principles; preparing design specifications, and technical supervision experience.
Achievement of the above stated knowledge and skills requires a Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in an engineering field plus 20 or more years of experience.
