Senior Construction Administration Manager University of Virginia Location: Charlottesville, VA Description:

The Health System Project
It is anticipated that the initial projects will involve the phased renovation of major portions of Levels 0, 1, and 2 East in UniversityHospital located on Lee Street in the University of Virginia Health System.These future capital renovation projects will need to be closely coordinated with the Hospital Bed Expansion and Lee Street Entry and Connective Element projects from a design and construction perspective.
The Position
Responsibilities include managing, coordinating and administering the construction contract for projects through the warranty period.The person in this position is responsible for construction administration management, reviewing the contract documents to determine significant time schedules and milestones, coordinating the participation of responsible entities and defining the major task areas.He/she monitors progress and initiates action to ensure schedules are met and work is performed within budget.The Senior Construction Administration Manager resolves problems and coordinates the final turnover of the projects.He/she also provides project direction to assigned Construction Administration Managers.
Qualifications
Professional Degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited College or University is preferred
A professional license in architecture or engineering is preferred
Five to ten years of project management experience or responsible charge over construction or the procurement of services.
Significant supervisory responsibility for the construction of large complex institutional, utility, research, and/or healthcare facilities
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Significant years of directly relevant professional experience including the oversight of major capital projects
·Knowledge, skill and ability to negotiate agreements for construction contracts
·Demonstrated strong team leadership and interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
·Demonstrated experience in the management of complex, healthcare and medical research construction projects located in highly congested urban sites is preferred
