Position Description: The position will be responsible for the leadership and delivery of Science and Technology projects (laboratories, clean rooms, manufacturing, data centers, etc…) on a local and regional basis.
This position will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships throughout the life of a project including marketing, contract negotiation, design, and construction. The position will provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary teams, planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of large complex projects. This position will be responsible for the project budget and will work closely with the Regional Controller and Managing Principal for project financial reviews. This position typically supervises large project staffs and acts as mentor for less experienced Project Managers. Additionally, this role is expected to be capable of managing several projects concurrently.
Experience on large scale laboratory projects is preferred. The candidate should have managed at least three major (>$20M construction) projects to completion for institutional clients. Other technology project types (eg: manufacturing, data centers, cleanrooms) will be considered.
Experience as a part of the core sales team in securing projects. At a minimum, this must include experience supporting the proposal development as well as experience as a primary participant in the interview, and experience in negotiating the scope/contract upon selection.
Experience Required: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture. Registered Architect. 10+ years of experience in biosciences related projects. Must be able to lead a team on Science & Technology projects. Experience with vivarium and cGMP facilities. Good planning and mentoring skills. Computer literate with MS Office, AutoCAD and/or Microstation. Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
