Energy Manager Brown University Location: Providence, RI Description:
This position will provide technical support in the development and implementation of energy programs including energy efficiency and self-generation projects, and will serve as the University’s principal technical advisor regarding current and emerging power supply/delivery issues, including energy supply and acquisition strategies, building energy management technologies, internal energy usage policies, and regulatory compliance. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or energy-related field (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of experience with developing, implementing and monitoring of energy management programs. The position also requires knowledge of/experience with LEED™ and with Energy Simulation Software such as Visual DOE or DOE 2.1E, an in-depth understanding of mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, building automation controls systems, lighting, lighting control, power distribution, etc., and experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and controls. Substantial knowledge of Excel and Access or equivalent is required. Preferences include financial and utility management experience, particularly in a large organization; and energy management experience in the education sector. We also prefer candidates with the following credentials: Professional Engineering Registration (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP).
