This firm is one of the most aggressive, successful, international workplace consultants focused on design, planning and strategy active today. Part of the success of their business is a well-oiled outsourcing approach, supported by years of experience as an outsourced provider.
As part of this line of business, they have secured an enviable contract with a large, Seattle-based company with multiple, extensive real estate requirements. Working hand-in-glove with the real estate service provider who is part of the outsourced team, this firm has responsibility for workplace strategy: articulation of their clients’ vision, goals, objectives and desired outcomes; data collection to support alternative spatial solutions; and recommendation of preferred solutions and communication of recommendations including graphic documentation that illustrates organizational, operational and functional relationships that have physical and spatial impacts. The small group of four strategists also has responsibility for order-of-magnitude cost forecasting and traditional migration plans for relocations within their client’s real estate portfolio.
This is a dynamic work environment requiring a senior, experienced individual to supervise the on-site strategists … not only to serve their client, but also to expand the services that they could offer over time. Part sales, part analyst, part consultant, the successful individual will have experience working in an outsourced environment with other service providers and the controlled chaos that often characterizes these situations. He/she will have had exposure to design in a professional setting (either inside a corporate real estate group or a consulting organization). An undergraduate degree in architecture or a design-related field is necessary. Of paramount importance is the ability to assume a leadership role both in relation to other employees, to outsourced team members and, of course with clients.
